Projects

These are public software examples from the labs. Each has its own scope and limits.

Projects

Current public tool.

qscout (QuanteX)

A free tool that lists where systems use encryption that future quantum computers could break. It produces a report to help plan the switch to new encryption.

Public-data engineering demonstration.

MyoShift (RoboteX)

A repeatable test of reading commands from muscle signals measured on the skin. It checks changes in the person, the day and the sensor position. It uses public data and is not a medical device.

Public-data work sample.

CSO Insight (ElementeX)

Loads public sewer overflow reports, checks them for errors and compares them with a simple starting estimate. These overflows occur when rain and wastewater spill into nearby water. The example uses public data from Massachusetts, in the United States.

Computer simulation of a made-up camp.

Northern Microgrid (VoyaX)

Simulates how solar panels and batteries could cut diesel use at a made-up remote camp in northern Canada. It runs hour by hour under four kinds of northern weather. Simulation only.

Open-source audit tool.

TransitAudit CA (TransitX)

A free tool that checks how complete the accessibility information is in Canadian transit schedule data. GTFS is a shared format for routes, stops and timetables. It also compares service frequency and information about stop access. These data checks do not establish actual accessibility.

Planned research

Areas we plan to research include:

  • AI, data and privacy tools
  • Genes, quantum computing and robotics
  • Clean energy, water and the environment
  • Movable homes and accessible transport
  • How governments buy services and how research becomes a business
